About Gold Hill

Gold Hill, North Carolina is a small town located about 45 miles North East of Charlotte. In the Mid 1800's Gold Hill was a bustling gold mining town that employed up to 3,000 miners and had up to 23 brothels and saloons for the miners to enjoy. Mining, being the dangerous job it was and still is, produced a lot of gold, but took numerous lives at the same time.

Today, Gold Hill is a quiet little town that prides it's self on the history of the town. If you stroll down the wooden planked side walks of the historic district, you will find everything from the old stone jail to the E.H. Montgomery General Store to the several mine shaft entrances that still exist.

Carolina Paranormal Society was contacted in May, 2010 to investigate the many reports of paranormal activity. After completing the usual pre-investigation research, in June, 2010 Carolina Paranormal Society investigated 8 different locations in the town. Being that this location was so large, we had to use a few different techniques to cover the whole area.

During the investigation there were many personal experiences, anomalous readings, and physical activity. The investigation lasted well into the next morning and produced some good evidence of the activity.
